Whitney Houston just threw away expectations of a wonderful comeback after performing with a hoarse and cracking voice in her first public performance after six years.
In front of 5,000 people gathered in New York’s Central Park, Houston admitted that her voice was damaged after a recent appearance to OPRAH.
“I’m so sorry. I did Oprah. I’ve been talking for so long. I talked so much, my voice… I shouldn’t be talking. I should be singing.”
The mini-concert just turned in questions of her capacity to comeback into the limelight after a hard marriage to Bobby Brown and an arduous battle with drug addiction.
Whitney is expected to reveal details of her long battle with drugs for the first time in The Oprah Winfrey Show interview, being billed as “”the most anticipated music interview of the decade”, scheduled to screen in the US on September 14.

I, just want to say Whitney is a very strong woman. With a mother like Sissy and being the daughter of the Houston blood line she has to make it. Yes, she has had a hard road she had to cross but by the grace and mercy of God she made it because this voice is to be heard and felt. I believe God is giving her a second chance to sing and to give him the glory for her gift. I believe her purpose is to inspire and to give of herself to inspiring artist like my self. I have a gift simular to hers and I believe from what I’m seeing from all this is a messeage to me in a lot of ways. I just believe she will come back because this is a gift from God and nothing and nobody can take this from her. Whitney I just want to say to you keep your faith in God no matter what people say, you are fulfilling your destiny. I hope and pray that someday in the near future I would get to meet you personally. Love you and I’m praising God for allowing me to see my prayer for you. Stay Blessed.
